We love to find out about the world around us. Below you can see some of the fun things we have been doing to explore our surroundings!
We take it in turns to cook every week - it's very interesting to see what happens to the ingredients when we mix them together and cook them.

We tested Mrs Cooper's sailing clothes to see if they were waterproof. Unfortunately, they weren't very warm!

From Monday 3rd to Friday 7th March was Maths Week in school. Foundation Stage joined together for a whole host of maths activities based around the theme of Cinderella. Scroll down to see all the lovely things we got up to.

After baking the yummy cakes, we were very busy icing and decorating them in time for the ball.

On Friday morning, we went to the Studio to play all kinds of maths games. Mums, Dads, Grannies and Grandpas joined us to help us with our numbers. It was a great way to practise and learn more about counting and adding.

We also had chance to get together with Year 1 to show them all the wonderful things we had made and tell them all about the things we had learnt.

Mrs Holmes read us the story of The Greedy Triangle which was very funny. Year 1 had written shape stories like the Sad Sphere. They then made moving pictures to go with their stories.

Year 1 also went on a shape walk around the school and village. They found all kinds of shapes and made a film about all the different shapes they saw.

They looked at the work of a famous artist called Kandinsky. Using shapes they created pictures in the style of his work.

On Friday afternoon, we had a ball, just like Cinderella's. We wore our shape crown and had a dance to some ballroom music. As you can see we have some very graceful dancers!

We then ate the lovely cakes we had baked and iced!

As a culmination of our unit of work on Clothes we held a fashion show! It was great fun. Everyone came dressed in different clothes, from princesses to pirates and firemen to fairies. Even the teachers dressed up! Have a look how lovely we look!

Salihah's mum came in to talk to us about clothes from around the world. It was very interesting to hear why clothes were different in different places maybe because of their religion or the weather.

Alice tried on one of the special outfits and Salihah showed of her beautiful clothes.
Salihah's mummy also brough her wedding clothes to show us. They were beautifully hand embroidered and very heavy.
illiam's mummy came to show us her uniform. She works as a nurse.

Mrs Smith has to wear a comfortable uniform so she can move patients if they need help.

In her pockets she keep two very important things. A stethoscope to listen to people's heartbeats and a torch to see what see is doing in the dark. Mrs Smith often works at nighttime looking after people when they are asleep, that means often when we go to school she goes to sleep!
On Monday 14th January Mrs Floyd came into to show us her uniform. Hover over the pictures to find out about the different parts of her uniform.

Monday 12th March - Friday 19th March 2007 was book and media week. To celebrate all the exciting things going on in school FS1 and FS2 joined together for lots of fun activities.
Please scroll down and over the pictures to find out about all the activities we did together!
